Help Gig Meet His Monetary Needs

I am in urgent need of your help. As I am sure you know by now, because of my deteriorating physical health it has become necessary for me to move into a nursing home, North County Nursing and Rehabilitation in Collinsville, Oklahoma.
It was quite a difficult decision to make in a way, but in a way it was easy. Difficult because I did not want to give up what little freedom I had left in my life, but easy because if I tried holding onto that minute amount of freedom I would surely have died. It has gotten to the point where I require around-the-clock health care.
While a mere pittance, the disability check I have been getting for 20 years was enough for me to eke out an existence with just a little left over. But for an “allowance” of only $75 a month at North County, I will receive nothing else now since all the rest of my check goes to the facility. Of course, almost all my needs will be met, including primary needs like food and shelter.
But this is where the plot thickens. I have my phone which is $75 per month and that takes care of the allowance right off the bat. Subscriptions of all sorts, office supplies, and as you well know I love to do my philanthropic work (Sharing my good fortune with you, so to speak) and these all require funds and cannot happen without your help. I have absolutely no savings so unless I get some assistance soon, I will not be able to afford much of anything after I pay the phone bill. And I will surely be needing stuff to do because I will have nothing but time on my hands. This abundance of extra time I see as a great opportunity to touch other people’s lives, but I am dead in the water without the capital to be able to acquire the supplies I will need to accomplish this task.
Also, Lymphedema supplies like compression socks ($75/pair) and Velcro leggings ($165 apiece) are not covered by my insurance, so those expenses will come right out of my pocket. And if I don’t have these and should I get a wound on my lower leg or foot with my diabetes and lymphedema, I stand a chance of losing some toes or a foot, and that would not be good. Not good at all.
It is essential for me to purchase expensive vitamins and supplements to meet the requirements of care for my bariatric surgery, and I am certain that I will need other medical supplies and equipment associated with the procedure, both pre-op and post-op, which is coming up in November. This will be here before we know it!
I would like to get $5,000 in donations. Some may feel this to be a bit too high but if you think about it, it is not all that much. Let’s say that my monthly spending is $200 or thereabouts. That’s just a little over two years’ worth of bills paid. I don’t want to have to annoy you every year or so, by asking for more money. A lot can happen in two years too. I might even get to be well enough to get out and live on my own once again by then! Wouldn’t surprise you, would it?
It is for all these reasons that I am asking you for your monetary help. Whatever amount you feel comfortable with, no matter how big or small, would be appreciated beyond belief by me.
If you would care to donate by mailing me a check, you may make it out and send it to Gregory Gross (they all know me as ‘Gig’ up here, but the bank wants me to use ‘Gregory’), 13445 North 132nd East Avenue, Collinsville, OK 74021. Whenever I get 100% moved, I will send this out again with the address of the nursing home on it as well.
Or go to GoFundMe and type in “Gig Gross” in the search bar. There will be a picture of me wearing an American Flag long-sleeve shirt with my cowboy hat on and the caption, “Help Gig Meet His Monetary Needs.” Click on the picture and look for the donate button.
I am much obliged to you for taking your valuable time to read my letter. Means a lot to me. I hope to hear from you soon.
Kyrie, eleison,* (The Greek words for “Lord, have mercy,” are “Kyrie, eleison” that is to say, 'Lord, soothe me, comfort me, take away my pain.’)
Your Friend,
Gig
P.S. *- Don’t you just love this? I know I do!
