Hi, my name is Bruce and I am a musician (French Horn) and member of several local community music organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area. One being San Francisco's official band, the Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band (SFLGFB). I have another friend named Jay and we have a mutual friend named Bekah who is also a musician (Harp). When the the Freedom Band programs a composition that includes a Harp part, Bekah is our "Go To" Harpist. However, because she does not have a Harp of her own she rents one from the hero of our story, a man named Robin.

Recently. while retrieving the harp from Robin for the Freedom Band's upcoming holiday concert, Jay and I learned that Robin has decided to spend the next portion of his life sailing around the world with his partner. Needless to say they are in the process of selling off everything they own that won't fit in the boat. Including his Harps. Naturally, a discussion was had on allowing Bekah first opportunity at purchasing the very instrument she'd been renting . Before long a plan was hatched on an idea of Jay and mine that requires raising funds to reach a goal detailed as follows:

The purpose of this "Go Fund Me" campaign is to raise $8500 to purchase Robin's Salvi, Daphne 40 String Pedal Harp w/Travel Case to gift Bekah her first ever, very own Harp, for her 40th birthday, which happens to be December 7. The dollar amount of $8500 was the recent appraised dollar amount determined by a professional Harpist and licensed Harp technician. (see attached appraisal page)

Ideally we would hope to surprise Bekah with this gift following our upcoming holiday concert Saturday, Decemmber 11, on stage and in front of the audience, attended by many of her friends, family and former co-workers.

*1st Fun Fact: Strangely enough, the venue chosen for our upcoming Holiday Concert, St Marks Lutheran Church, happens to be the same church Bekah formerly served as it's Pastor.
