Dear friends, kind souls, and anyone who believes in the power of compassion!

This post is for my brother, Rushil Anand, currently living in Canada as he battles with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a rare and progressive disease that weakens muscles day by day. I’m reaching out to the public because my brother is at a critical point in his life and needs your help to access urgent treatment that could finally bring him hope of life.

Due of delays in the long processing times of my immigration here in Canada and ineligibility for healthcare coverage, he received inadequate healthcare. Lack OHIP healthcare meant no definite family doctor, no consultations with the disease specialist and long days in emergency rooms. This also meant draining our pockets empty to pay for all doctor’s appointments and visits. At this point we have exhausted absurd amounts of funds for his medical care which included: emergency room visits, private consults, and treatments. At the end of it all, only to wait hours just to be seen, and still walk away without the proper care or answers we desperately needed. These experiences made dealing with the critical conditions even more difficult and disheartening for Rushil and the family.

The truth is, time is not on his side. His condition is worsening, and He can’t keep waiting.

For that reason, he needs to travel to Dubai where there is a medical centre offering advanced diagnostic testing and a new treatment plan that gives him hope for relief, stability, and a better quality of life. However, traveling isn’t simple! He can no longer sit in a regular airplane seat or wheelchair due to the condition. He would require a medical stretcher, oxygen and vital check service on the flight, a service that’s incredibly expensive and completely out of reach financially at this point.

I’m trying to raise $80,000 to cover:

• The cost of a stretcher flight from Canada to Dubai

• Urgent diagnostic testing and consultations

• Access to a new treatment that could improve his life

• Medical equipment and support during travel

This journey is not just about getting treatment it’s about reclaiming the dignity, strength, and future of this young boy. We’ve fought so hard to get this far, and we will not giving up now. But we may not be able to do it alone!
