My dear friend Statia Wainright is about to have her hand and part of her arm amputated - this is her third surgery trying to fight Cancer. She is a tough lady full of life, who served our country in Korea, married Sol, a Vietnam war veteran, a wonderful mother, sister and friend to all who know her. She is a vibrant and full of life and always using her hands to touch the lives around her, from donating time to make center pieces for local charity events to donating her time for my own wedding- she has touched countless lives. Tri-Care and the VA do not cover the costs of providing a functional hand that would allow Statia a much more mobile future. The costs and insurance copays are extreme and so hoping that friends and family can help gift Statia the bionic hand that she deserves. Anything you can do to share and help is greatly appreciated.
