Support Gianna’s NICU Journey

Dear Friends and Family,

So many of you have been following Gia’s story and know some of the details of the worrying time and challenges we’ve had to face these last 8 weeks. When I found out I was pregnant, I would have never imagined the hardships Daniel and I would have to face so quickly after giving birth. We’ve been through some hard days and have had to make even extremely harder decisions regarding Gia’s health. At 8 weeks, I imagined I would be at home, with my husband and our brand new baby soaking up all the newborn cuddles, but unfortunately, we haven’t gotten our day. I pray no parent will ever have to go through what we’ve been through. There was a point where things had taken such a dark turn, we didn’t believe Gianna would have the chance to come home. However, each day she fights with a strength that humbles us and brings us right back to God's glory and goodness. While Gia has shown major improvements, after her surgery last week new issues have come to the surface and she still has a ways to go until she is ready to come home.

Daniel, who is the sole provider for our family, has used his 6 paid weeks of paternity leave and also 2 weeks of vacation to be able to continue coming to the hospital every day to be by mine and Gia’s side. He has the opportunity to take an additional 6 weeks of unpaid paternity leave, but unfortunately, with Gianna’s extended NICU stay and commute to the medical center every day, our expenses added up pretty quickly. We’ve had so many kind people reach out to ask what they can do and how they can help our family, and at the time we didn’t have an answer. But now, Daniel has maxed out his PTO, and I am asking for help from our community.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly towards keeping us together as a family for the next couple of weeks as we navigate through the unknown and related expenses. Your generosity will help ease the financial strain on our family, allowing Daniel to take the necessary time he needs to focus on what truly matters - being there for Gia.

We are overwhelmed with the love, prayers, and support that everyone has shown us. This has definitely not been easy on us in any way, but God has a bigger plan and brought the most beautiful girl into our life! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and know that we are so appreciative of everyone for taking such good care of us.
