The 2024/2025 GHS Nordic season marks our 40th year competing in Section 2 and teaching two generations of athletes how to cross-country ski. Over half of our skiers have never stepped into skis before joining the team. Through the years, we have been able to provide equipment for our athletes in order to allow them to practice and compete. The good news is, cross country ski equipment lasts a long time. The bad news is that much of our equipment is decades old and breaking down faster than we are able to replace it. Plus, our team is getting bigger every year, thanks to word of mouth and recruiting efforts by our veteran skiers.

The purpose of this fundraising campaign is to outfit our team with equipment that will last for the next 40 years. We intend to continue to promote this sport and create lifelong skiers who will look back fondly on their memories of the GHS Nordic program. The money you donate will go towards outfitting the team with boots, skis (classic and skate) and rollers skis which allow us to train in the parking lot when there isn't sufficient snow. We often astound our competition when we show up at ski race venues and have a solid foundation on the basics of cross-country skiing, all due in part to our ability to roller ski.

Your generous donation will help us continue to support our athletes and grow the sport we all love. This team has consistently been composed of an incredible group of student-athletes who support each other and enjoy being on the snow. We hope to give them the equipment they need to continue to be involved in a healthy activity that they can participate in as long as they are able!
