My name is Holly, and I’m writing this as Jenny’s close friend and someone who has watched her love, care for, and fight for every animal that comes into her life for many years, including recently with her tiny Sphynx kitten, Ghoul. Jenny would never ask for help for herself, even when life becomes overwhelming, but Ghoul’s medical needs have reached a point where she can’t do this alone. That’s why I’m creating this GoFundMe: to help give this extraordinary little kitten the chance at more time, better health, and the life he deserves.

Meet Ghoul; a 7-month-old Sphynx kitten with the loudest purr, the softest snuggles, and a heart condition that threatens to take him from this world far too soon.

Ghoul was born with congenital heart disease. From the very beginning, his life was uncertain. When his future LVT mom learned about him, she knew exactly what she was agreeing to:

the specialist visits, the tests, the cost, and the heartbreak that can come with loving a medically fragile kitten.

But when she looked into his eyes, there was no way she could say no.

So she brought him home - committed to giving him the best life possible, no matter how long that life may be.

Then life happened.

A series of unexpected hardships arrived all at once, and despite working in veterinary medicine and doing everything she can, the cost of Ghoul’s cardiology consultations, imaging, diagnostics, and testing is now more than she can manage alone.

A Real Chance at More Time

Ghoul is an excellent candidate for a research study being conducted by CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets in Virginia — a study that could give him access to treatment that may extend his life and dramatically improve its quality.

But before he can qualify, he must complete a series of preliminary exams and advanced cardiac tests, and that is where we need help.

More Than Just a Kitten

Ghoul isn’t only a beloved pet — he is a teacher, a healer, and a tiny ambassador for compassion.

He spends much of his time at the veterinary technology program where his LVT mom works. There, he helps students learn how to:

• Properly handle feline patients

• Locate blood vessels and draw blood

• Place IV catheters

• Take radiographs

• Clean ears and trim nails

• Listen to heart and lung sounds

• Check pulses and monitor vital signs

And in between lessons?

He provides what no textbook ever could:

non-stop purring, warm snuggles, and stress relief for exhausted, overwhelmed students learning how to care for the animals of tomorrow.

Because of his heart condition, the staff and students lovingly nicknamed him “Murmur.”

He has become part of their story, and they have become part of his.

Ghoul’s mom will never regret saying yes to him.

She just can’t do this alone.
