Oh boy where do I start?
I have never experienced anything like this before so I'll do my best to tell the story. I'll try and keep it as short as I can but it was a very long day...

*Finding the good boy*
I went for a walk a few days ago and about 20mins into it I spotted a husky wedged between the fence I was walking along side and a telephone pole. There wasn't really any where else for him to go besides a very busy multi-lane road. I went a little closer to him to see what was wrong but he stood up and tried to get away from me, that's when I noticed he was limping really really bad. I called my roommate and asked for advice on what to do. She ended up calling the police. After a long time of no one showing up, my 2 roommates came down to see the dog and keep me company. One of my roommates eventually got close enough to pet the dog and I was surprised how friendly he was. We called the police a few more times and eventually an officer showed up and told us that he called animal control and there wasn't anything else left to do but wait for them. We waited a little over an hour and realized no one was coming. A few people walked by and didn't seem interested in helping out either. After seeing him get his head stuck in the fence multiple times now, my roommates and I decided to get the crate and try and bring him home to figure out what to do from there. They both went home to get the crate and I waited with the dog (Ghost.)

*Rescuing the good boy*
It was getting darker and Ghost was getting more desperate to get onto the other side of the fence. Each time crying out as the splintered wood poked into his neck. The owner of the house on the other side of the fence came out to see what the noise was. I was pretty naive thinking he would want to help out. He told me it wasn't his dog and that I better not break his fence... I helped Ghost get unstuck a few more times while I waited for my roommates to return but he got stuck one last time. I tried helping out but he was exhausted at this point and it was really dark... I saw my roommates in the distance with the crate. so I went to help them carry it and that's when I heard a really loud cry that I wish I could unhear. I went over to see what happened and the owner of that house was walking away from the fence... Ghost was now unstuck but he was cowering behind the telephone poll. I'm assuming he was either kicked or hit in the face with something because he would no longer let us pet him and he now had a bloodshot eye... Eventually we managed to get a leash and collar around his neck and gently pull him from the brush. He wasn't able to walk far so we had to bring the crate closer... He was starving so it wasn't to hard to get him into the crate with some sausage. We carried him back to the car and drove him to the store where we picked up some dog food.

So far I have had him for 2 days now and he's extremely well behaved so I was hoping he had a decent family that was looking for him but he's not micro chipped and the vet told me that it looks like he's been out there for much longer than 1 day.

*Medical*
I would love to keep him but his left front paw is broken and I was told I could be looking at anywhere between $500-$5000 depending on how bad it is. He has an appointment today to get his immunizations, hopefully they check out his leg and give us some advice on what needs to be done. It's looking like he might lose it but I really hope not. Sadly I don't make nearly enough money to take on this task by myself but I wasn't going to just leave him there like that and I'm certain he wasn't going to make it out of that situation alive. If we can get Ghosty fixed up he will have a great home, anything helps!
