Help Gevara Al-Safadi and His Family Escape Gaza
My name is Tania Rashid. I’m a journalist based in Los Angeles, and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of a fellow journalist and friend, Gevara Al-Safadi, who is in desperate need of support.
Gevara is a 39-year-old freelance journalist living in Gaza with his wife, Sana Mohammed Al-Safadi (37), and their three young children:
Lamar Gevara Al-Safadi (13)
Sham Gevara Al-Safadi (6)
Ayloul Gevara Al-Safadi (4)
Their situation is dire. For over two years, they have endured war, displacement, and famine. Gevara’s home was largely destroyed, but with no other options, his family is still living there. There is no access to clean water or food, no education for the children, and no healthcare. His children are suffering from malnutrition, and there is no safe place left for them in Gaza.
From Gevara:
*“The living conditions in the Gaza Strip are very bad—there is no food, no drink, no shelter, and no security. My children are suffering from malnutrition due to the famine spreading here. I live in my home, which was mostly destroyed, because I have no other choice. My children have not received education for two years, and there are no schools or hospitals available.
I’m asking for help so I can take my wife and children to Canada, where we can finally live a life of safety, dignity, and peace.”*
How Funds Will Be Used:
Your support will help Gevara and his family cover:
Passport and travel documentation
Exit and border fees
Flights and relocation costs
Temporary housing and basic needs (food, medicine, clothing)
School enrollment for the children in a host country
Funds will be securely transferred to Gevara’s brother-in-law in the United Kingdom, who will help coordinate their next steps and assist with travel and resettlement logistics.
How You Can Help:
Every donation counts. Whether you give $5 or $500, your support directly helps a family escape unimaginable conditions and start over.
If you’re unable to donate right now, please share this campaign widely.
