Brittany was diagnosed two months ago with cancer, and if any of us had to go through something that challenging, Teresa, her mother, is the exact kind of person we would want by our side. For Brittany, Teresa isn’t just that perfect person, she’s also Brittany’s rock and her go-to for all life throws in her way. And, up until now, Teresa’s been able to care for Brittany while working full-time, nursing around the clock. Except Teresa is suddenly facing her own medical crisis. Last week Teresa was found to have an abscess on her brain and was life-flighted to Iowa City. The expected recovery time for a brain abscess can be two to five months. With their serious medical needs and mounting bills, this Giver-to-All, Sadness-Be-Damned, Laughter-Be-Brought, Nurse-Extraordinaire and Insane-Workhorse, who operates from such a place of devotion and love to everyone who knows her, has never needed us more.
