Help get "I'm Just a Little Bit OCD" Play to IYF

Donation protected
I have had OCD since the age of 5, but have only got an official diagnosis this year and the main reason for this is because I didn't know I had the disorder. When I was at drama school I wrote a play that challenged the myth that OCD was some kind of quirky personality trait by using my own experiences to allow an audience to not only see, but hear and hopefully experience what it might be like to have OCD. After a successful performance at East 15, we developed the show and took it to Southend Fringe and Brighton Fringe as well as performing snippets at two of the biggest OCD Action  annual events. After every performance I have been overwhelmed with positive responses, from those who have learnt about the disorder and those who have seen themselves within the story. The play is a semi-biographical, comic and yet unsettling story, centred around Tilly and her older sister Grace. Narrated by her older self, we flip between story telling and the past when  Grace left for  university, Tilly is  at home with her mother alone for the first time. Thoughts begin to fly into her mind, quickly and without control. Horrid, disturbing thoughts that can't possibly be hers, because how could she think that, what does that mean about her? From discovery to diagnosis we follow the sisters, as they find out what it truly means to be, not just "a Little Bit OCD" but a hell of a lot OCD. The more people I can show my play to, the more people can see that intrusive thoughts, of whatever nature are just a normal part of life. OCD affects 1-2% of the population and due to the lack of awareness and misconceptions many go without help for years. As a newly graduated actor, I am sadly unable to fund the play currently so am asking for help with funding to aid with travel expenses, props, rehearsal space, actors fees and general costs that come with running a show. Thanks to previous fundraising we were able to put the play on at Brighton Fringe and pay to register for this event and are extremely grateful to anyone who previously donated.  If you want to find out more about my journey with OCD my Instagram is: @Riafay94  Here is the website for OCD action where you can find our more about the disorder: https://ocdaction.org.uk
