hey y’all!
since june of 2019, @getchusomegear has been hooking up baristas (and other coffee pros!) that hold marginalized identities with free coffee gear and educational materials to explore their craft.
in 8 months, we have redistributed over $5,000 worth of donated coffee gear (over 70 boxes!) with a budget consisting of bar shift tips and temporary shipping sponsors.
marginalized folx face financial hardships at a higher rate--and coffee gear is expensive. it is important for us to help make the tools for success in the coffee industry more accessible.
WITH YOUR HELP we can:
1. pay a lawyer to help guide us through the 501c3 application/advise us on how to best set up and operate our organization.
2. pay fees connected to filing for 501c3 status
3. hire an accountant to help us set up our finances and prepare for growth
4. start-up funds to help with PAYING OUR STAFF, a website, upcoming events, merch, pro devs, training, and spreading the word!
5. provide support to more @getchusomegear box recipients during coffee champs competition season!
6. help us find a space to store ALL OF THIS GEAR :)
7. SHIP MORE BOXES, REACH MORE FOLX!
we couldn't have accomplished any of the things we have in the past 8 months without the support of our beloved coffee family, LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID! thank you forever.
