Help Modupe, Melody, and Quintin Get Back on the Road

Peace beloved community,

Modupe, Melody, and Quintin are active members of the Detroit community as farmers, healers, hosts of community dinners and retreats.

Unfortunately, the trio is suffering from car troubles. Modupe’s vehicle was recently totaled in an accident. Melody and Quintin’s automatic transmission blew on their vehicle, requiring extensive repair. We are turning to the community to help get us back and rolling.

Modupe is a hardworking single mother who values and finds joy in community engagement with her 3-year-old sun, participating in interactive activities that help them develop greater character, foster a sense of belonging, and build strong relationships. These connections provide vital emotional support, practical assistance, and love during the challenges of single parenthood. ($3000, to help her get a vehicle)

Personal transportation is essential to maintaining their self-care and active community life. Without it, they face significant challenges accessing basic needs, from school drop-offs and pick-ups to obtaining personal care items essential to their wellness. Reliable transportation would enable them to more easily access essential services like childcare, community programs, outreach activities, and grocery shopping. This support is crucial for their holistic well-being and continued participation in the community, which means so much to them. Quintin & Melody:

The vehicle we share is the primary source of transportation which brings Quintin to D-Town Farms, allows Melody to distribute her herbal offerings to different parts of the community, participate in community organizing, and acquire materials for her retreats. It is also a taxi for our non-automative friends to and from community events. Anything you can give is much appreciated!! ($7000 for transmission repair)
