To My Husband by Abby Erff and directed by Shannon Rose Connolly is having its world premiere at The New York Theater Festival this June. This play is about the expectations placed on young women in America. Based on real events, To My Husband explores the shared experience of existentialism young women often suffer through once they become cognizant of the severity of their objectification. When hired to nanny children at their aunt's wedding, Abby is mortified when she meets the groom- her ex boyfriend. This play brings you on a journey through a twentysomething's use of her own power by relinquishing her pride. It is a story of humility, vulnerability, and relatability. This play should be a part of Free Fringe because its lessons are universal. It is a story about a young woman finding her liberation despite her patriarchal conditioning inside the catholic church.
We are currently crowdfunding to make this production the best it can be. come join us at the Hudson Guild Theater this June to laugh in an “omg same” kind of way .
