Hey Friends,
My name is Esperanza and as many of you know, medical care in the U.S. is expensive and inaccessible. I am requesting mutual aid funds for my fur baby, Tiguere (Tiger), who has been battling an ear infection for approx. two weeks, which has now traveled to his lungs. On Friday, Jan. 13th, I took my baby to an animal clinic in East LA that claimed to be "affordable" but they wouldn't give me answers or any sort of antibiotics before running extensive tests that would carry a cost I cannot currently afford on my own. His visit alone was $120 just to get him in the door. To make things even more financially frustrating, they charged me a late fee even though I notified them I was stuck in traffic and they didn't even see Tiguere until an hour after we arrived. I have barely been able to gather enough funds to pay for an ear cleaning scheduled for tomorrow, Jan. 18th. I would have to potentially pay over $1k for medication and in-house treatment alone. I would also need additional funds that would go towards preventative care and follow-up appointments. Because this animal clinic was negligent and did not properly monitor Tiguere, his skin infection has worsened because of aggressive licking (his coping mechanism) and I do not feel comfortable going to them for further medical care. I found a more holistic veterinarian that I know will provide him with the best care possible and just need financial help to make that happen.
If untreated infections persist, they can be life-threatening. I can't afford to lose him because he is my Service Animal—he literally helps me every single day. I have had him for three years since he was 8 weeks old. I want to get him the medical help that he needs as soon as possible. Both Tiguere and I will accept any donation you are able to give. If you are unable to donate, a simple share goes a long way. Thank you in advance for your generosity and care. I will gladly provide status updates on his recovery along the way.
