Monkey on a Mission

Hello, thanks for visiting this page!

I’m Kayleigh, a 20 year old aspiring actor who having spent some time away from education, is craving to return!

I’m delighted to have accepted a place at my top choice of study - an actor training company in central London named Fourth Monkey and I can’t wait to get stuck into my training!

ABOUT ME:
My love for performance all began the night I sat on stage as a member of the children's choir in my first run of Bill Kenwright's touring production of 'Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat' which encouranged me to join my local performing arts school; Michael Hall Theatre School

Cue the old embarrassing photos...

Since then my love for the stage has only continued to blossom and I'm proud of all the productions I've had the priviledge of being involved with proffessionally, with my theatre school and during my studies - whether that be acting in, directing or even helping out backstage!

Here's a few of my favourite things I've been involved with over the years including some (slightly) less embarrassing photos...

Performing in the West End's Adelphi Theatre as part of my friend's theatre Company, Blackout:

Playing the role of the Fairy Godmother (with a punk twist) in Cinderella/assistant directing Peter Pan for Blackpool and the Fyldes Children's Pantomime:

Performing a new play as part of The National Theatre's Connection's programme:
Performing in an original musical written by a friend:

Performing in Bill Kenwright's touring production of Cilla the Musical:

Acting as an extra in the Oscar nominated film 'Phantom Thread' starring Daniel Day Lewis:

WHAT I WANT TO GAIN:
By the end of my course, I hope to have gained the skills needed in order to provide me with a sustainable career in Acting. I strive to partake in/create my own contemporary theatre which will change people’s perspectives - making an impact and ultimately bringing about a change in today’s society. I aim to better myself as both an actor and person throughout my training.

FUNDING:
The school itself is private, (having actively decided against applying for accreditation in order to protect the future evolvement of its training) which means, unfortunately, I’m not eligible for student finance. It’s, therefore my responsibility to fund for the course/cover the expenses of studying in London.

Since being offered my place at the end of January, I’ve worked and saved £5,000. Although this may seem a lot and I’m proud of how much I’ve saved so far, I know I’ve still got a long way to go but I will continue to work, work, work and save, save save!

This campaign's goal is a realistic crowdfunding contribution towards my total fundraising target, however there are a lot more expenses invloved. I plan to raise money in other ways, as well as continuing to work in order to keep earning as much money as possible.

Any contributions you are able to make will be wholeheartedly appreciated and although I can’t offer much in return, I promise to keep you informed of my progress and updated on any performances I am involved with!

Much love,
Kayleigh
