Hi! My name is Kristen, I’m an actor, crafter, and horror movie lover. I will be getting a bilateral breast reduction on February 24th, 2023, and I am asking for your help.

Wait! But that’s in three weeks? Yep.

Despite this breast reduction being deemed medically necessary by both my doctor and my surgeon, and after a drawn-out authorization process, my insurance decided they will not assist with payment. I’m privileged to have a full-time job that allows me to set aside savings, but even so, without the assistance of insurance, this surgery is a large financial burden.

If you have known me for any period of time you know that this procedure will be life-altering for me: not only will my back, neck, and shoulder pain subside, but my mental health will improve, as I will be able to move through the world in an affirming way. Hell, I’ll be able to do a jumping jack without being in pain! (I actually like jumping jacks so that’s a pretty big deal.)

Where will your money go?

$4,700 = this pays for about half of my surgery, including the fun stuff like anesthesia.

$300 = miscellaneous post op expenses like bandages, a big ol’ pillow, and pain medication.
