Through their songs, the Magical Rock Band delivers messages of hope, unity, and social justice. They address pressing issues such as poverty, inequality, and environmental sustainability, resonating with the aspirations of
young people worldwide.
The Magical Rock Band started as a bedtime story told by their father about a group of siblings that would travel the world conquering evil forces through their music and magical instruments.
Over the years the group saw their father Hayón, Executive Director of OccupyLove WorldWide, traveling the world helping the youth of impoverished communities. They watched videos, and saw pictures of their dad, uncles, and aunty building a school in the Kibera slums of Nairobi, Kenya, and fundraised so their favorite African artists could provide aid to families in Uganda during COVID.
The Magical Rock Band, inspired by their father's altruistic endeavors, are looking to embark on a transformative journey to the eastern horn of Africa, But we nee your help!
With this trip to the Motherland, the band will set the blueprint for connecting creatives globally through positive collaborations, good business, and beautiful music, all while expanding the MRB brand’s message of love and inclusivity. MRB will also be inspiring their MRB FAMbase in the United States to think more globally, and develop a more global perspective.
The band will be working with their Uncle Cedric Singleton, CEO of Black Market Afrika, and the amazing network of major artists, producers, TV and radio hosts, videographers and much more, all within the power label’s umbrella. Black Market Afrika has collectively expanded their brand to millions of views, millions of subcribers on YouTube, and hundreds of thousands of followers on other social platforms. The group plans to collaborate with major music artists in Kenya such as: Vic West, who has the #1 streamed song of 2023 “Kuna Kuna” (23 million); Exray Taniua, who has 205K subscribers on YouTube and 244K followers on Instagram; Joefes, founder of Mbuzi Gang, and Boondocks Gang who has 240K subscribers YouTube. They will also be working with artists in Uganda such as: Daddy Andre, who has over 1 million views on each social channel; and Nina Roz, who has over 700K followers on Instagram, and over 400K on TikTok.
The goal is to create music, shoot music videos, and connect with organizations centered around youth empowerment initiatives, access to clean water, and the fight against world hunger in Kenya, Uganda, and beyond. By creating impactful music, and inspirational content, the team will bring attention to the needs of people suffering in regions around the world. The trip will mark the first real step towards connecting young creatives globally, and spreading love worldwide.
The GFM requested amount will cover the traveling costs of the expedition, including $8,000 for flights (MRB fam and MRB's videographer who will be documenting this extraordinary journey); $2,000 for lodging; and $2,000 for food and transportation.
