Help get the Jackson's Twins back!

Donation protected
Hi, My name is Krista and I'm setting up this for my fellow twin mom friend; Alicia Jackson & her family. Please read this & consider donating to help her family get their twin boys back by paying for all legal fees/doctor visits/etc. Help them win this fight. Here is their story & hopefully it will help someone to keep pushing forward and to keep fighting for answers.
"I also want people to know the truth and that no one is immune to medical kidnapping.
My family was moving cross country on military change of duty station orders. On January 10th, my husband was changing one of our 6 week old twin son's onesies and heard a pop. He came to me right away and told me what had happened. Naturally, we were both concerned when he wasn't using it the way he normally does so we brought him to the closest emergency room. We explained to them what happened and they ordered skeletal x rays, and CT scans for him. The X ray revealed a fractured humorous bone at this time, and the hospital called in Department of Children Services because they said the injury was suspicious for non accidental trauma. The Department of Children Services and the hospital staff asked to do an evaluation of our other son who was with us at the Emergency Room. We allowed them to because we knew we had not and would never hurt our children as they were suggesting. Full skeletal x rays, CT scans, labs and pictures were taken of our babies. The doctor said that my sons birth marks were brusing. Our other twins x rays and ct scan came back normal with no issues. The hospital kept us all overnight for "observation" of our twins. They seperated us into different rooms and Department of Children Services wouldn't let us be unsupervised with our babies. The following day they discharged us. Later that night Department of Children Services came out to where we were temporarily staying. We were in the middle of moving cross country when this all occurred and were staying with family in Tennessee. DCS did a full walk through of the home, took pictures of our babies AGAIN and then said they would be in touch the following day. In the middle of the night I get a call from the hospital saying we had to bring our son back-the other twin- because now all of a sudden they saw healing/old fractures on the X rays. We bring our other son back to the ER, and they tell me he has old/healing rib fractures that were caused by someone squeezing him.
I asked every single question in the book. I inquired about their abnormal lab results, potential birth injuries, brittle bone diseases but everything I asked got blown off and was said to be only from non accidental means. The Department of Childrens Services came and took both my 6 week twin boys into custody.
I pulled every medical record I could get my hands on including my prenatal, birth records, well baby check ups, and all the records from the hospital. I contacted doctors for second opinions because I knew that the hospital was wrong and something was not right.
I reached out to the Family Justice Resource Center who help families who have been wrongly accused of child abuse and help them to find medical reasoning behind injuries. Turns out there is a whole network of people who are dealing with this very same thing all over the country. I was able to connect with several doctors and my children were able to see a specialist in Boston who could evaluate them and me for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.
I have a clinical diagnosis of Ehlers Danlos Sydrome which is a connective tissue disorder that is hereditary. This disorder causes hypermobile joints, laxticity of skin/joints, easy bruising and skeletal fragility. Each of my boys were clinically evaluated and also said to have acquired EDS from me.
Several medical reports have now reported to alternate explanations for the twins injuries. Aside from their clinical diagnosis, they also had abnormal labs in the hospital that affect bone formation including very low copper and serum levels. They had lack of fetal movement in my third trimester due to lack of space which causes insufficient bone loading leading to fragile/weak bones. Bone metabolism panels should have been taken at the ER but they were not because the hospital was "so sure" that we had injured our babies. These bias misdiagnosis formulated by the accusing hospital caused our family extreme heartache and trauma.
The court systems continue to slow down the process of getting our children back. The original judge who signed the order written by DCS to take custody of our babies was forced to step down because of immoral acts he committed. We have had to hire multiple attorneys to fight this case with us and prove that we did not hurt our children. It took not even 24 hours to take them out of our custody but it's been 8 months of fighting to get them back.
Please don't think you are immune to this. Ask all the questions at your children's doctors appointments. Make sure things are documented if you have concerns. Get second medical opinions If you think something isn't right and most of all be your child's advocate."
