Help get the Croton-Harmon EngiNerds to DI Globals!

For the first time in several years, the Croton Harmon School District has qualified for the Destination Imagination (DI) Global Finals in Kansas City, Missouri. Our EngiNerds team achieved first place at the New York State Finals, and now we're preparing for the next big step. We are seeking your support to help cover fees and transportation for the kids and their Team Manager to attend Globals.

DI is a remarkable competition that emphasizes creativity and teamwork through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) for students from elementary to university levels. What makes DI unique is its entirely kid-driven approach. While adults guide teams through facilitating meetings and ensuring student safety similar to a coach, the students themselves take charge of designing, building, and problem-solving. The program encourages

learning through doing and collaboration, and these dedicated students have invested countless hours to reach this point.

Our EngiNerds faced the High Wire Challenge, which required them to design and build a machine capable of transporting weighted objects up an inclined rope, all while adhering to strict weight and size limitations. They also needed to craft a theatrical performance that seamlessly integrated the operation of their machine. This journey has been an incredible fusion of STEAM, storytelling and creativity.

Your support will enable the team to represent Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School and the Croton-Harmon community on a global stage and give this talented team of 5th grade students the opportunity to showcase their skills and passion for STEAM to an international audience.

Every contribution counts towards getting these kids closer to Kansas City and to showing the world what kids can do when they work together to solve big challenges. Donations exceeding the amount required for the EngiNerds to participate in the Global Finals will be allocated to support future Croton-Harmon DI teams.
