My journey as an elite competitive OCR (obstacle course race) athlete started about 4 years ago. I was looking for races that were different enough that challenged me in a whole new way. I have competed in cross fit, olympic lifting, marathons, mountain biking, and wrestling to name a few of the sports that i have competed in.
Why I love competing in this sport, is it opens a whole new respect for self discipline, self respect, and perseverance. I have always loved cross country and trail running, and being able to add challenging obstacles that are not only physically challenging, but also mentally challenging i completely fell in love with everything about this sport.
Pushing yourself to a point where your not sure how, or even if you'll be able to accomplish the task, yet when its done and your in the moment of oh my gosh, I freaking did it, and move on to the next one hope for the best. Truly living in that moment by the thought ... well if it doesn't kill me.... makes me stronger. maybe not physically, but mentally it definitely does, there are no questions about that. Who knew it would become such an addiction and something that you can take to such a competitive level and I am actually not half bad at it.
Saying that I have been able to represent Canada as a female athlete in the OCRWC in 2016 and 2017, and again in 2018, but taking the level of my training to a new and different level, and now looking to compete in June 2018 again internationally in Australia in a 24hr Endro OCRWC, and again in October 2018 in the UK for short and long course. Is something that I have thought would only continue to be a dream.
However truly believing that dreams do have a way of coming true, this is really happening BUT they wont come true with out the help of my supporters, sponsors, friends, and family
Help me make this opportunity possible! Please help me get to these races this year, and to have the opportunity to represent London On. Canada at the OCRWC.
