Hi. My name is Scott Penman. I'm 41, from Manchester and have been homeless for 2 years. Before that I lived in a flat in Coventry. I chose to give up the flat to move back to Manchester to care for my father who was terminally ill. He died of cancer in 2023. I was unable to claim his residence due to the housing stock only being available to age 55 and above.

Following this I agreed to move in with my brother, Billy. Six weeks following the death of our father, Billy took his own life. The loss of my remaining family members and family home has left me homeless.

I sit outside a shop in Ancoats daily in the hopes of raising £21 to stay in a hostel each night. I'm lucky if I can afford a room 2 or 3 times a month.

I love Manchester and am really grateful for the help I have already had from the community to enable me to sleep indoors when possible.

If you are able to donate to help me obtain a permanent residence then I will be able to resume my trade as a floor layer and get my life back on track.

We will provide updates on Scott's progress. We will share bills on here to evidence the donations are being used effectively.

We are looking to raise enough for 8 months accomodation (8 x £650pcm), giving Scott time to find work. Funds will be used to pay for temporary accomodation until enough is raised for a short term let.
