Our beloved friend Sandra was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer in October—the news was a terrible blow to all who have been touched by her kindness, compassion, and joy for life. Not only is Sandra a single mother to her precious son Lucas, she has helped raise countless babies and toddlers in San Francisco in her role as a value primary caregiver for other working parents. She has left her indelible mark on dozens of young families through her caring way with kids.

Sandra had surgery on October 1, followed by rounds of debilitating chemo that have left her unable to work and facing dire financial stress. So, her friends have launched this fundraising campaign to help meet her financial needs. We want her to focus on her healing and recovery! If we know someone who's got the strength to combat anything that comes her way, that person is Sandra :)

Here's what we are budgeting to get her through the end of her treatment.

$2,000 - Fly Sandra's mom to San Francisco (cover air fare, passport and visa fees)
$2,000 - February (to cover her monthly expenses)
$4,000 - March (to cover her rent + monthly expenses)
$4,000 - April (to cover her rent + monthly expenses)

The fundraising amount will cover all her basic expenses, from rent and utilities to school pick up and drop off, food and meds, as well as a psychologist for Lucas.
