In January, my car was crunched when a young man ran a red light, causing me to collide with his car. Since Michigan insurance is a gnarly beast, I did not receive the mini tort money I should have since the driver was at fault and ticketed. My vehicle had to be junked as the damage was quite extensive. Although I submitted a small claim, they are dodging being served, and I honestly do not trust the system. Plus, I can't keep putting out money on a maybe. I need to get another vehicle soon. I have very little ass left to work off, and I hate to ask for favors, but I figured I'd try GoFundMe. I am a car revivalist and like to take older cars in good shape and take care of them until they just can't go anymore. I had put decent money into the 2007 Cobalt that was hit, and the 1992 Taurus I had to put down last summer was a wonderful car. I miss them both. I'd like to find another older car, preferably a 4 cyl, with front-wheel drive because I cover a lot of territory working for 6 different companies at 15+ locations. I have a lead on a couple of cars, but it's been rough just keeping up with regular bills, and I haven't been able to pull together enough to purchase. I've been fortunate to be given a car to borrow for a bit, but I will need to return it very soon. Thus, this desperate measure. Any small amount you could contribute to me being independently mobile again would be greatly appreciated.
