Help Get Renzo Back Home!

This past Tuesday morning, our dear friend and UFC Coach Renzo Mendoza was detained by ICE & is currently in custody at Orange County Correctional Center. Renzo is awaiting a court date and his family is working through a recommended lawyer.

As you may know, Renzo is not only part of UFC’s long time family, he’s a loving father to his daughter Mia (age 12), he’s a friend to many of us in the community, and he’s a dedicated and hardworking Muay Thai coach. Renzo gives his whole heart to everything he does and it’s evident in the closeness of the relationships he’s built around him.

We are currently seeking your help in gathering funds for the following:

1) for him to obtain a good professional immigration lawyer and resolve this unfortunate situation in a timely manner (est to be upwards of $25k)

2) to help with the costs around the care of his daughter and their dog Striker during this time

 

Funds will be managed directly through Renzo’s brother - Paulo Mendoza.

Additionally, we are collecting letters from the community/friends that reflect the type of person Renzo is, the impact he has on others, etc. These should be genuine yet relay his impact. Kindly send those to Caroline. She can provide her email as we are unable to post that on this domain.

We anticipate having a court date in the coming week or two and further details to follow.
