Many of you know Randy and Stacy Gestrich. They have been married for 4 years this August and have faced more challenges with Randy’s health during the last two years than many fully know.

Randy had cancer when he was 15, but by the grace of God, he’s 29 and remains cancer free. God is good! However, numerous health issues stemmed from the radiation treatment, such as some loss of mobility, radiation fibrosis, being on a feeding tube, difficulty breathing, and an undiagnosed heart condition. God spared Randy’s life many times.

Randy tries to be as independent as possible. He runs three businesses from his wheelchair and is actively involved with their church. Through the health challenges, Randy and Stacy both continue to keep their eyes and focus on the Lord.

To become more independent, Randy has started the process of getting a service dog. The English Lab will be trained to help him and be with him twenty-four hours a day. The dog will be able to help stabilize Randy when he walks, assist him if he falls, help him fetch and reach things, and assist at the store along with many other things. This service dog will be a true asset and blessing for both Randy and Stacy.

The contract signing for the service dog will happen in a few weeks. The pup will be trained by a certified professional trainer and stay at her house during training for the next thirteen months.

Service and therapy dogs are very expensive. Randy and Stacy are willing to do what is needed to come up with the money on their own. However, I know there are so many of us who would love to help take the financial burden off of them. The first large installment for the dog is due in a few short weeks.


Any monetary contribution helps! The goal is set very high. Every dollar we raise goes straight to the service dog for Randy. We may not necessarily make it to the goal.....but it would be amazing if we did. We serve a gracious, giving Savior, so anything is possible.
