Help get Rainbow to her forever home in Canada!!!

ABOUT RAINBOW :

Rainbow is a six-year-old mixed breed dog currently at DeKalb County Animal Services in Chamblee, Georgia. Like so many dogs in overcrowded shelters, Rainbow has struggled with the effects of kennel stress. At DeKalb, dogs may only get walked about once a week because of the extreme overcapacity. For Rainbow, this took a heartbreaking toll—she became more and more stressed, developed an intimidating kennel presence, and even injured herself with “happy tail,” leaving her kennel streaked with blood despite the staff’s best efforts to treat her.

As her stress mounted, Rainbow was placed on the euthanasia list with a deadline of last Thursday. But her story didn’t end there!! Several posts about Rainbow went viral, and one of them reached a woman all the way in Canada. It was love at first sight—she knew Rainbow was meant to be hers. The adoption was finalized, but because Rainbow needed to be spayed before traveling, she remained in Georgia temporarily.

A short-term foster offered to help, but their resident dog quickly became overwhelmed. Within a week, they dropped Rainbow back off at the shelter for her spay appointment and were unable to take her back. Now, Rainbow is recovering from surgery back in the overcrowded shelter she so desperately needs to leave.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP:

The Canadian adopter is eagerly waiting, but because Rainbow just had surgery, she cannot fly, and her adopter cannot cross the border without a passport to pick her up. Thankfully, we found Shadow’s Promise Pet Livery Service, a reputable ground transport company that can safely bring Rainbow all the way to Canada.

The cost of transport is $2,090. Her adopter can contribute $750, but that still leaves a large gap. Half of the balance is due immediately upon booking, and Rainbow needs to be on the road no later than tomorrow at 7 PM!

This is why we need approximately $1,340 raised in less than 24 hours! Rainbow doesn’t have a foster home to stay in to help us wait longer. If she doesn’t leave the building tomorrow night, she will be urgent once again despite having a loving home waiting for her.

Rainbow has a lifetime of happiness within reach—a home where she will finally know peace, safety, and love. But she cannot get there without our help.
