Help get Prada Home

Hi My name is Katherine Vanden Hurk from SBC Persians and Exotics here in Western Australia and I am trying to raise funds to help my dear friend Amanda who just spent all her savings of 15k on filling her dream of importing her first Persian kitten in to Australia.
Prada had all correct paperwork, Boas forms completed and rabies shots done and microchip was verified at every single step. She left Portugal on Monday 3rd March and her microchip was verified before leaving, she then arrived in Turkey on the 4th to fly onto Singapore. The pet transport agency has been contacted for all correspondence they received from the airline along the way.
Prada then arrived into Australian quarantine on Wednesday the 5th and here is when it all fell apart for poor Amanda quarantine couldn’t find the microchip
they tried 5 different scanners and Amanda even arranged a private vet to go in with the exact scanner required for the brand of microchip and no Microchip can be found. The chances of microchip failure is 1%. The type of implant used was Uranochip Petite and has a 20year inactivation guarantee.
The option for Amanda to get the cat X-rayed has been denied by Australian Quarantine, they have said even if X-rayed to say microchip is there it won’t help the situation in Australia unless a scanner can pick up the microchip code to finish of the cats verification of identity, they will not Authorise her to stay in Australia with out the microchip code being matched to the importing and rabies paperwork. We will need an xray to be carried out ti prove to the Microchip company it’s still implanted and that it has failed for Ananda to get any form of compensation.
So due to no fault of the breeder, Amanda poor Prada now only has 2 options.
1: Be flown back to the breeder in Portugal by the 16th March 2025
2: Euthanise Prada
we want to know why can’t the vets in Portugal be allowed to sign stat declarations stating that Prada is in-fact the cat is the one they have implanted and checked at every vet appointment as she is very distinctive in markings.
Prada is not sick, she is a stunning healthy well maintained Persian girl who is loved by anyone who meets her including all the Quarantine staff.
The last thing anyone wants to do is Euthanise a perfectly healthy cat but as Amanda has saved every penny for 2 years to finally import she has exhausted all funds so having to find an extra 7k to fly Prada back to Portugal is unfortunately out of her reach and a mum of 2 young kids.
I am just hoping the community can rally together to help Amanda as you can imagine how heart broken she is but money issues aside all she wants to do is Save Prada and get her home as this situation is no one’s fault.
Yes we have been contacted by media agencies about the situation and yes if a solution is not found with the Australian quarantine facility and Amanda still denied permission to get an X-ray we will go down this avenue
So Please help us save Prada.
