Hi friends! Unfortunately, a few days ago our beloved pup Petunia was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, an aggressive form of bone cancer. We’re devastated of course because we love her more than anything in the world, but on top of that, we’re anxiously facing an unexpected and large amount of vet bills throughout her treatment process.
The treatment will require many X-rays and tests, surgery to remove the tumor and potentially also remove the affected limb, physical therapy, and preventative care to keep the cancer from spreading further. This particular kind of cancer is known to spread to the lungs if not treated quickly which makes things even scarier. We also plan on trying holistic methods to supplement the traditional surgeries and treatments.
A little about Tuney -
She is 7 years old and we adopted her in March of 2021 from Nashville Humane - it truly was love at first sight. When we sat down to meet her, she immediately climbed into Tristan’s lap and we knew she was ours. Since then, she’s become both of our best friends and the highlight of every single day. Before she was ours, Petunia was a breeding dog and had many litters of puppies. We don’t know much about her past but it’s clear that she never really got to be a puppy herself, and we’re so grateful that we get to give her that for the rest of her life. She’s our baby and we would literally do anything for her (I cook all of her meals homemade and she sleeps in between us every night, case and point haha).
We know that this hasn’t been an easy time for anybody financially so literally anything helps, even if it’s just sending a little healing energy her way. To know Tuney is to love her and we feel so lucky to have so many friends who have fallen in love with our sweet girl the way we did. Thank you for helping our baby, we’ll keep you updated throughout her treatment!! <3
