Fundraiser for uncle John ❤️
Before I speak on anything, first of all thank you to everyone who’s taken a moment out of their day to find this link & have a read through.
It’s not easy bringing ourselves to making these types of fundraisers, as the reality of needing to ensure a man who is deeply close to my heart gets the support he needs to keep fighting this fight as we would love to get him well enough to travel back to his own whenua (land) back in Aotearoa, New Zealand. A man that has played a father figure in my life personally and co produced my best friends of 16 years and counting, plus my daughter Cali-Reign even calls him “Koro” (Maori for Grandpa). From day one, any one of us kids that walked through his front door was taken under his wing and loved like his own. His doors and arms have always been open to all that needed a place to stay, or food to eat. For anyone who hasn’t had the pleasure of meeting Uncle John, I hope by reading through this you get a sense of how much of an impact he has made on everyone’s life who has been blessed enough to know him.
John was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 2019 along with many other medical issues, during this time his fight has been extremely strong and he has been able to prolong his life by healing his body through natural herbal medicine. Two weeks ago this has taken a huge turn & his body is rapidly going downhill & struggling to cope from the combination of Bone & Prostate Cancer along with kidney’s failing. Although mentally and emotionally he’s still the strong, confident and most definitely the cheeky man I know but physically I can see the pain he’s in and it breaks my heart to pieces to see this beautiful family trying their best to keep him comfortable. Every day they are all by his side doing what they need to do despite the emotions and processing they are all going through themselves.
This family hasn’t only done a lot for me but for so many different communities without question and I am making this call out to help relieve the financial stress so that they can continue to be by his side and put all focus on the time they have with their dad.
Message from Nae:
Thank you all for the overwhelming support every txt, call, prayer has been felt and our whānau are all so grateful for the love received while we all stand strong & walk this journey together with our Dad. We will continue to remain positive and fight this fight till the wheels fall off! Love you all so much and no words will ever beenough to express my gratitude whānau.
With all that being said no donation to this cause is too small. Please know that every single one will be going towards making him as comfortable as possible, getting any treatment he needs & taking the heavy financial weight off his immediate family’s shoulders who have been his 24/7 hour carers during this time. On behalf of his beautiful 5 children Said, Kathleen, Danica, Jenee & Candace, his many grandchildren and all of his extra kids such as myself - I’d like to thank you all in advance from the bottom of our hearts for your kind donations x
Being the strong typical old school Māori man he is, his pride is still as real as ever so he does not know about this call for help so please be mindful of this if you do get the chance to see him. Thank you again
