Help get Ollie to his NAPA Therapy Intensive!

Hello world!

My name is Ash and I am Ollie’s mum :) The curious case of Ollie is a wild one and it’s been a very big, hard, crazy journey supporting him in his life! He was born with a very rare (and unexpected) de-novo genetic variation that means it’s not something we actually passed down, just a tiny little fault in the write up of his DNA and it’s caused his life looks different to most of those around him. He was number 6 in the world of getting diagnosed with his condition at the time of his diagnosis!

Ollie is non-verbal, has severe global development delays and is extremely tiny in stature. He needs help in every aspect of life and most likely always will. He was tube fed for a very long time but at the moment manages to eat just enough to keep him going. He has microcephaly which means his head and brain is very small and still only measuring around the size of a 3 month old baby even though he just hit 4 years old.

BUT he has a massive personality! If you’ve met Ollie, you know he is a total legend and proving doctors wrong as he moves through life. He is walking, interacting with friends and communicating in his own way. Most importantly, he is stealing hearts everywhere he goes.

We have secured a spot at the amazing NAPA centre in Sydney to try and give him the best chance at improving his skills in many departments as he’s hit a bit of a plateau. NDIS should be able to cover the therapy but the cost of getting us down there and covering accommodation for 3 weeks is BIG. We’ve had numerous people asking how they can help so I finally caved and started up this little go fund me to possibly help with the costs! Absolutely anything would help!

It’s taken a lot to convince me to do this as I am terrible at asking for help and we usually take on all the responsibilities of his complex life mostly on our own (his grandparents have been a lifeline of course!) but here I am, putting it out there to the world!
