Hi, my names Ben and since July of last year I have had to take on being a carer for my mum as well as college and work. Up until then my mum was a really active vibrant person who ran her own childminding business from home. It’s been really hard seeing my mum going from someone who looked after everybody else and being very independent to needing to rely on others. She has been overwhelmed by the emotional and physical support that she has received from her friends and family.

It all started in February of last year when she started to get pains in her hip and struggle walking. But due to covid she didn’t end up being seen, in person, til July. By this time she had lost 30% strength and use of her legs, had numbness and loss of control, and was needing to take pain relief tablets 24/7. After several MRI scans over the next three months and being taken off the hospital she was diagnosed with calcific tendinitis in her hip and a broad herniated disk in her lower back, this has continued to get worse and has led to her needing an operation. Unfortunately the waiting list for the NHS is over a year for this operation and we face another year of seeing my mum in this pain. Because of this we feel there is no other option then private healthcare. My mum has had offers from friends to help out raise money for this operation and I thought it was a great idea so I set up this page so that if any one wants to donate or fundraise could put the money into this. When I looked into the operation it said it could be around £10,000 which is a lot of money so any donation towards that target would be greatly appreciated.

Please help me get my mum back.
