Hi, my name is Clayton R. Addleman. I am 31 years old and am currently serving in my 8th year of a 33 to life sentence. I am not proud of the crimes I committed back in December 2015 and will spend the rest of my life making a living amends to everyone I meet in honor of those I have trespassed.
Since my incarceration began I vowed to tell the truth. This truth has led me to live a life of integrity and absolute honesty, and have attempted to do just this through my writings. I am a mentor with the Peer Literacy Mentor Program at the prison I am currently housed in. This has given me invaluable experience working with men from all walks of life, helping them earn their G.E.D. and other life skills to aid in their transitions back into society.
I have written my first book titled :
'' Victory Through Defeat _ From Life Sentence, to Life's Purpose.''
I hope to raise 2,000 dollars for the publishing and promoting fees for my book. I wrote this book in hopes of reaching any who feel stuck with the hopeless mentality of life in prison and helping bring them to the conclusion that something better does exist !!. Twenty percent of all proceeds from book sales will be donated to Human Rights Watch, a victim-impacted relief fund.
''We can find victory in life through our greatest defeats!''
If we are to trust that, ''All things work together for good to those who are called according to God's plan (Rom 8:28)'' , then we can rest assured that our failures are part of the process. It is never too late to start something different !!
For anyone reading this, I thank you! Thank you for your time and consideration and for helping me continue my living amends. I will continue to write in an attempt to reach all who struggle with addiction, depression and hopelessness. If we are to hope for a brighter future it will be through positive rehabilitation for returning citizens. We are not the sum total of our past mistakes, but we are who we choose to be today !!!
Thank you for helping me make this dream a reality. For more examples of my published articles, Check Me Out at:
