HELP GET MUM TO NEW ZEALAND

Hello we are Lia Ropati’s children. Our mum is the most kindest and loving soul we know always so strong. And loves everyone that has ever crossed paths with her.

Right now our mum is not well and currently stuck in Samoa with a life threatening illness and we are trying to get her to New Zealand where there is help and resources for her.

We didnt anticipate that a day like this would come, that my mother’s life would be on the line. We don’t have any other means of financial support to get her on an emergency air evacuation which will cost us between $20-$70K. We’ve been led to this “My Go Fund” because I have heard of many testimonies of families lives being saved by others blessing them with donations to help their cause or loved ones medical conditions.

We are doing this because my mother is currently in Motootua Hospital fighting for her life, she has been diagnosed with Necrotising fasciitis a flesh eating bacteria eating away at her leg and the hospital has butchered her leg enough. She has been through three surgeries, as suggested by the surgeons and we’re not very clear on why. They have been a nightmare to deal with, & when we ask questions their countenance and behaviour become defensive & mistreat the patient. Motootua Hospital does not have the appropriate or adequate medical equipment, medications, facility, nurses, doctors or surgeons to help my Mother and they have said they cannot do anything else, other than wait and then they suggested they amputate my mothers leg. Now they have put her in Acute 7 ward which is apparently a ward where they send patients who they cannot do anything else further for, & now the are trying Samoan medicinal transitional treatment, which will only cause her leg to be badly infected and back to square one.

She has been in this state for the last three weeks. The wound is extensive due to the surgeons butchering her leg, & the healing process is taking longer because they do not have the right resources or medical equipment or bandages. It’s a nightmare!

The goal for My Go Fund is so we can make enough funds to get our mother on the air ambulance back to New Zealand where she can get the right medical attention and care. And have medical assistance on the plane to NZ.

Time is not on our side and we fear for her life. We are trying to save our Mother, who also has grand children to live for.

So please this is our last resort. We have no where else to get the help I need. All I have right now are my Prayers and Hope in God that he will make a way. And that God will send the help we need, we feel helpless and all we want is for my Mother to have a chance to live and to save her leg. But she needs to get to New Zealand to do that.
