Help Get Monica A Service Dog

Hello Friends Of Monica,
Monica’s birthday is coming up in a few days (October 13th), and we want to help her get the dog of her dreams.
As you probably know, Monica LOVES dogs. We’ve seen her roll around on the footpath wrestling a random pair of staffies, We’ve seen her sprint across four lanes of heavy traffic without looking just to get the chance to pat a terrier she liked the look of, and we’ve seen her cry with happiness after meeting a labrador.
The owners of these dogs always ask Mon if she has a dog herself, or if she’s planning on getting one soon.
Mon’s doctors too, have suggested she get a dog, as a support animal, to help her through the symptoms of her various conditions.
Monica though, has always said: “not yet”. Even though she loves dogs, she’s always been worried that she was too sick to care for one. But she’s been working superhumanly hard on her mental health and at last! She reckons she’s ready!
This year hasn’t been the easiest: Mon and Adelaide had to move to a new house, and in May they lost their cat McClane (a.k.a. The Boy, The Ginger Prince, Pumpkin man etc), not to mention everything going on with the plague.
A dog would bring Monica SO MUCH joy. A dog would help her to feel less lonely over lockdowns and support her mental health. A dog would help her get out and exercise; she could go swimming with it! It would help her wake up in the morning, and most importantly, she would love it more than anyone has ever loved anything.
Monica wants to get a small labradoodle. They’re beautiful dogs, with scraggly brown curly fur and nice brown eyes (they even look a bit like Monica!). They’re emotionally intelligent, curious and active (just like Monica too).
Monica says she still has a few things to do to prepare, and there will be a waiting list, so it might take as much as year before she actually gets to take a puppy home, but that’s okay.
The only thing is; they ARE a bit expensive, but if everyone chips in a little bit we shouldn’t have too much trouble getting enough money together.
A dog would be LIFE CHANGING for Monica, so we hope you can help us put a little joy in her life, just like she puts a little into ours :)
Thanks in advance,
Love,
Eamon and Stephanie and Uliana
