Help get Meg and Kim to Spain for IMART

We are reaching out to our friends, family, and community for support as we embark on a journey to Spain to represent the Worcester RFC mixed ability women's team at the International Mixed Ability Rugby Tournament (IMART).

This is a huge honour for both of us and our team. Kim has been battling Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for many years, which has taken a toll on both her physical and mental health. Despite this, she has selflessly dedicated her time and coaching expertise to preparing the team for this incredible opportunity, as well making a massive impact on the pitch as a player.

Meg has been tackling the ongoing symptoms of a head injury sustained in a rugby game in December 2022, again the physical and mental effects of which have changed her perspective on life and her relationship with sport. At times, both of us feared we wouldn’t be able to play rugby again, but thanks to the inclusive environment created by Worcester RFC, we have been able to continue the sport we love. The team is a place where players can compete regardless of health conditions or disabilities, or for those who simply want to play at a lower contact level.

To make this trip to Spain a reality, we need to raise all the funds ourselves. To do this, we are taking on the "Miles for IMART" challenge, where we will collectively complete the distance (743 miles) from Worcester to Pamplona in one month. Starting on February 23rd, we will log our miles, and on March 23rd, we’ll finish the remaining miles at Crowngate in Worcester using bikes or rowing machines. Any contributions, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated as we work toward this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Your support means the world to us!
