My name is Anastasia and I am an Ironman!!
This year my goal was to complete Ironman Leeds, a course that was new and had been branded as "one of the toughest out there". On Sunday 27th July, I not only completed the course, but I did so in sub 12 hours, finishing 6th in my age group, 13th out of all the women on the day. This came as a huge shock and meant that at the awards ceremony I was offered the challenge coin and a chance to accept a qualification slot for the Ironman World Championships, held in Kona, Hawaii on October 11th 2025.
The Ironman World Championships are every triathletes dream, so to get the opportunity to go in my first season of triathlon is something I could not turn down, as I might never get this chance again.
However all of this comes at a huge cost; competition entry fees are massive in the Ironman world, there's flights and accommodation in Hawaii, not to mention the new kit (say hello to swim skins, needed for a 30 degree non wetsuit swim), extra nutrition and hours taken off of work to get to race day jet lag free.
So if you would like to help get me to Worlds in October then any donation, no matter how big or small, would be so gratefully appreciated.
See you on the Island!
