Help Get Me Home to Recover
Donation protected
Dearest Friends, Family & Fellow on-lookers (guides, angels, teachers, and loved ones),
I’ve fallen on very tough times and I need your HELP TO GET HOME and support my most basic needs as I recover from surgery.
Anyone who knows me — knows how independently proud I am, and have been my whole life — so this hurts…
I know that this goes without saying: the last two years have been hard on everyone. For me, it’s proven to be a never-ending series of impossible tasks on top of impossible tasks leaving me financially destitute, without reserves.
I need your help.
Prior to this point in my life, I proudly served the Cape Ann Community as a CNA for 11 years at Denmar Rehab & Senior Living Center in Rockport — and I continued this career path as a CNA/PCA/PCT for the last four years, here in Indiana.
I’ve always weathered the storms, helped others whenever I could, and pushed through hard times to make all my ends meet. I’m no stranger to hard work and maximum effort: this is not a question of won’t do — it’s a matter of being unable to do (temporarily).
I’ve applied for it all: personal loans, emergency loans, lines of credit, government assistance, disability; I’ve even tried to donate my plasma — all denied. Currently, all I have coming in are food stamps and Medicaid.
In July 2021, I suffered a silly slip and fall — which resulted in a physically debilitating shoulder injury. After receiving occupational therapy my injury worsened, so much so, that while waiting to get the help that I needed, it developed into a condition known as “frozen shoulder”. After an MRI, I then was informed by my trauma surgeon that I do in fact have several areas that are torn and need repairing.
This of course requires surgery (scheduled for April 1st) with a 6-week immobilizer, OT, and a full recovery time of 1-3 years.
As if matters couldn’t get any worse, I was just diagnosed with a heart condition known as bradycardia due to an enlargement in my left heart chamber. Another battle in-and-of-itself. *Prayers Appreciated*
I just need to get enough money together to get myself back home (back to MASSACHUSETTS) and get through this hump as I recover and find my footing.
Please help me get back to doing what I love which is helping patients, and being a part of the healthcare community. Help me come home and be with family and friends — so I can heal and give back.
Every single cent is a blessing.
Consider supporting me in whatever way you can including sharing this Go-Fund-Me link. The more eyes on this the better.
If this fundraiser is reached, and my world turns right side up again; I will make it my mission to pay this generosity back in full, and in-kind to another in need.
With infinite love, much gratitude & hope,
Alysha Mae (Middleton) Cannon
