Help Get MaryAnn Home

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved MaryAnn.
At the very young age of 48, MaryAnn took her last breath on March 5, 2022.

She was a wonderful Mother of 4, daughter, sister, Aunt & friend. Just an amazing woman, who was quick to smile & spoke with such kindness & warmth.
She unapologetically illuminated every room with her bright light & spirit.

Born & raised in Rockford, IL. MaryAnn moved her family from her hometown to Union, SC a few years ago. She was deeply spiritual & dedicated to her beliefs. She trusted that no matter what, Allah would see her through any challenge she faced.

MaryAnn never stopped striving to improve her life & the lives of her children; Syh (16), Joseph (15), Jeremiah (14) & Reina (10).

On January 12th, MaryAnn was hospitalized with a life-threatening infection. She fought endlessly to regain her strength, in order to return home with her children. In the fight for her life, MaryAnn's optimism never swayed.

After overcoming severe septic shock & managing to get the infection under control. We all thought she was in the clear.

Devastatingly, MaryAnn caught Covid during her hospitalization. While already having a weak immune system from battling all those weeks prior, surgery after surgery. Her body could no longer take it & shut down.

Gratefully, she was in constant communication with her siblings & other close family members until her final days.

There was no shortage of love & support. MaryAnn departed this world knowing she was loved & her children would be well-cared for.

There are few words to capture the immense loss that her family feels in her departure. We are absolutely heartbroken by MaryAnn’s passing. As her condition unexpectedly took a turn for the worse, there was little time to prepare.

Blessedly, her Brothers & Sisters of The Muslim Community Center & Mosque have graciously volunteered to assist in her burial arrangements, to ensure her Soul will pass peacefully from this Earth & her wishes will be carried out to the best of our abilities.
As it would be MaryAnn’s desire to be Laid to Rest near her loved ones.

Unfortunately, there are a number of additional costs that need to be accounted for. The cost alone to transport MaryAnn's body back to Illinois, is roughly $6000.

We hope to help provide any financial support to MaryAnn’s children, as they adjust to a life without their Mother.

Your contributions are invaluable, even the smallest donation will help us reach our goal.

MaryAnn will be honored at Arlington Memorial Park on March 11th, 2022.
