Help Marty Get Back to “Living”

My name is Amy and I created this fundraiser for my boyfriend Marty. On October 20th our lives were changed in a matter of minutes. Marty suffered a brain bleed which lead to a stroke. He was in Tampa General Hospital for 9 days and is now currently at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital and is scheduled for discharge on November 19. Marty has been working hard doing his PT and OT but he still has a long road ahead. Last year we bought a townhouse together which we love but now it’s turned into a difficult situation as he wont be able to get upstairs. We were denied by the insurance company the chairlift for the stairs that we will need for Marty to get up and down the stairs. I want him to come home and have as normal a life as possible so showering in the bathroom and sleeping in his own bed should be part of that,  not sponge baths everyday and sleeping in a hospital bed in our living room. We are trying to get enough money raised to put a chairlift in for our staircase as well as convert our bathroom tub into a shower we can roll him into. He will be in a wheelchair for quite awhile so having these things would help him get around our home, otherwise he will be confined to only the downstairs. He will get short term disability but that’s not even close to what his income was which will deplete our savings. Please help me get Marty upstairs and back to “living” again ❤️
