Hi all,
I want to start by explaining why we have come here to ask for help. About 1.5 years ago my sister, her dog Jaxson, and her best friend Jen moved to Truckee, CA. Soon after moving, she accepted a position in Reno, NV as a registered nurse working in the OR. This is her passion and dream. She has grown to love Cali and the life she has built for herself here. Unfortunately, on April 11th around 2pm, my sister and her friend Riker were in a motorcycle accident in Kings Beach, Ca and were transported to the ICU at Renown Regional Medical Center with severe injuries. I soon learned that my sister had sustained a broken pelvis, femur, and hand, along with facial fractures, a pneumothorax, and other various injuries. She has since undergone multiple surgeries, blood transfusions, etc to repair these.  We have been told that Mariah will in a wheelchair for  4-6 weeks, and out of work for months. Needless to say, her journey to recovery is just beginning, and the road ahead is a long one. We are asking for donations to help with medical expenses, a ramp for her home, continued care, along with rental expenses for an accessible apartment. This is so that Mariah is able to stay in Cali without feeling the financial burden that will come with this.  My sister has given back to the community through her career and has devoted a huge part of her life to caring for people and their health. We now turn to the community and ask for help to get her through this. Our family thanks anyone who can help, even in the slightest way, and if you are not able to donate, we ask for positive thoughts and prayers for Mariah and her friend.
