Time Is Running Out

My name is Steve Nemenyi, and I'm asking for help for my lifelong friend, Laszlo Nemeth.

Laszlo is 69 years old. He has Parkinson's disease and dementia. He lost everything—his savings, his home, his independence. For the past few months, I've been able to give him a place to stay.

In 45 days, my house is being sold. When that happens, Laszlo will be homeless.

Who Is Laszlo?

For those who knew him, Laszlo was always the first to help others. Many remember him from House of Blues, Vincent Hill Station, Bac Street Lounge, and KB Club. He was loyal, generous, and kind—the type of person who gave freely and never expected anything back.

Now he's the one who needs help.

Why Hungary?

We've looked at every option. Sending Laszlo back to his home country of Hungary is the only real solution.

In the U.S.: Care costs over $6,000 per month—money he doesn't have.

In Hungary: A one-time entry fee gets him into a facility where his Social Security covers everything for the rest of his life. He'll be cared for in his native language, surrounded by his own culture, with dignity and peace.

This isn't a temporary fix. This is permanent care for life.

What We Need

The assisted living facility in Budapest requires a $29,000 entry fee for admission. After that, Laszlo's Social Security covers all monthly care for the rest of his life.

We're asking for $15,000 to help toward this goal. We know it doesn't cover everything, but every dollar gets us closer:

Temporary housing until departure ($3,000)

Travel to Hungary with medical escort ($2,500)

Medical documents and visa processing ($1,500)

Toward the facility entry fee ($8,000)

Whatever we can raise helps bridge the gap. Even partial funding gives us options and buys time to find additional resources.
