Hi, my name is Jono, and I'm a wheelchair user hoping to raise funds towards a Triride powered attachment for my wheelchair. I have a form of Muscular Dystrophy called Limb Girdle 2B. This means that my calf and shoulder muscles don't repair properly, meaning it's very difficult for me to walk, and when I do it's very slow; and will get worse over time. With my limited upper body strength, I'm limited to getting around in places I can drive to, and then push a short way; and only if that short way is nice easy pavement or flat floor inside!

 

I'd love to be able to get back outside and enjoy the nice weather, get to explore the lovely UK countryside, and consider going on trips to big UK cities without having to rely on doorstep to doorstep car journeys. The attachment I'm looking at attaches directly to my wheelchair and pulls me along, meaning I can focus on enjoying what's out there in the world, and not on pushing myself around.

 

Any money raised will go directly towards paying for a Triride Special Compact All Road model, as well as the cost of getting the brackets fitted to my chair; although I prefer to think of it as increased freedom.
