Help Jessie, Yorkshire's BMX Star, Get to the World Championships!
Meet Jessie: Autistic, Young Carer, World-Class Racer
Jessie is a determined 15-year-old girl from Yorkshire with a grit you rarely see. She is autistic and a dedicated young carer for her mum.
For a long time, Jessie faced incredible hurdles. School proved too challenging; the environment and bullying due to her autism left her isolated. The school system advised deregistration, concluding it wasn't equipped for her needs. This was a dark time, but it led her to find her true voice: on a BMX track.
BMX racing quickly became more than a hobby—it was her outlet, her freedom, and her purpose. It was a place where she could finally be herself, unjudged.
From Underdog to Regional Champion
When Jessie first started competing, she was told she'd never make a podium. She used that doubt as fuel. Through relentless hard work and passion, she proved everyone wrong:
• She quickly rose through the ranks, consistently making podium finishes.
• She became the Regional Number 1 for two years running.
• This year, competing in the highly competitive Superclass Female 15+ category at the National level, she achieved the ultimate goal: she qualified for the UCI World BMX Challenge Championships in Brisbane, Australia!
Jessie is the only person from Yorkshire to qualify for this world event, a testament to her incredible dedication and talent.
The Yorkshire Grit and Commitment
Jessie embodies true Yorkshire grit. She comes from a working-class mining family, and she works harder than anyone to balance her commitments:
• 6 AM Training: Early morning sprints and coaching sessions.
• Dedication: Countless hours perfecting lines, jumps, and technique.
• Physical Strength: Rigorous gym sessions to stay competitive.
She pours every ounce of commitment into this sport, but this opportunity is currently out of reach. She is not sponsored, and the costs associated with international competition are huge.
For Jessie to make her dream a reality, she needs to raise the funds for flights, accommodation, bike & kit travel costs , her mums medical equipment, passports, race fees for herself and her essential support team (her mum and dad).
Make a World-Class Dream a Reality
This is more than just a race; it's a monumental, life-changing moment. Jessie has never been out of the country before. This is a chance to step onto the world stage and show everyone what hard work, determination, and a huge heart can achieve.
Let’s get that community spirit behind her, true Yorkshire style! Every donation, big or small, gets Jessie one step closer to racing for Great Britain in Brisbane.
Please help us show the world what Jessie is made of, and that grassroots Yorkshire sport can compete with the best!
With a true Yorkshire spirit
