Oxford United player Isobel Hunt (Izzy) is a talented young footballer with a great future ahead of her.

Izzy has dedicated almost her entire childhood to the sport she loves. Izzy’s footballing career started at the age of 5 with Charlbury Town Youth FC, she progressed to North Leigh FC for two seasons (U12-U13) and alongside joined Oxford City Women’s team (U13-U14) at JPL level and reached the U14’s JPL Cup Final. She trained with Oxford United in the U14 season, securing a place in the U15’s squad this year. She also represents Oxfordshire at County level. But in September everything changed!

During a match, Izzy suffered a serious knee injury, tearing her ACL, MCL and meniscus. The news has been devastating. As many families know, the NHS waiting time for surgery can be extremely long and unpredictable, and especially frustrating for a young athlete at a crucial stage of their development.

Izzy has worked so hard to get where she is. She trains relentlessly and shows huge commitment and determination. She is loved by her teammates and coaches for her talent, resilience and positive spirit. Anyone who knows Izzy will tell you just how passionate and devoted she is.

To give Izzy the best chance of a full recovery – and her best chance of returning to the pitch – she now needs to seek urgent private surgery. Our fundraising goal is £13,000 which includes the cost of the MRI scan, consultations, surgery and hospital fees, with the surgical procedure booked for mid-December.
