Help Hokey Pokey Hedgehog Rescue get back on the road!
Donation protected
Running an increasingly busy and growing hedgehog rescue, Heather relies heavily on her van to get things done. As you may have heard, her van did not pass it’s MOT and it will unfortunately cost more to fix than it is worth, so we are fundraising towards the cost of a new van.
Anyone who follows Hokey Pokey will know that Heather works tirelessly for the hedgehogs and does amazing work. She attends many shows and fairs to spread the word on how to help hedgehogs and to raise essential funds to keep the rescue running. She attends schools and a variety of groups and communities to give talks to educate people. She travels to collect injured and sick hedgehogs, often late in the evening and sometimes long distances.
She often holds workshops and puts up a stall at the places she visits, so having a van to transport lots of ‘kit’ is essential for her to continue her work for the rescue. She will do a two day event at the the Royal Welsh Show this year where she will have a stall showcasing lots of different nest boxes, feeding stations and lots of other education tools to engage the public. Every year she also does a ‘Santa Run’, taking Santa around to meet the children (of which all donations raised go to the rescue). These are just a few examples of so many things that she does for the rescue.
She expects a suitable van will cost around £2500, of which she will cover as much as she can, but we are asking for help to cover the rest.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give
