Heather Washington (known as Little Heather to family) grew up in a small town called Bitho, Florida. Heather grew up with her her Mother and younger sister, Summer, but no other real family. Her mother had a third daughter some years later and her youngest sister, Sarah was born. Sarah's father's family adopted them as their own, but they never had a father figure. Heather's mother supported and raised all 3 children on her own, and the youngest of the three girls had an Autoimmune Condition, meaning that most of the money and attention their mother could offer went to her, and the other girls spent much of their time helping their mother care for their youngest sister.
Heather grew up fast, met a guy and had children young. Heather and the father of her 2 children parted ways. Stress caught up eventually, leading Heather into depression, which was worsened when her youngest sister passed away just after she turned 18 and Heather unfortunately turned to drug use. Her mother passed away from cancer shortly after her sister passed away to her Autoimmune condition and Heather started a huge downward spiral, losing her children, and ultimately losing touch with all of her family and friends.
Heather had a very rough life, and surrendered to her demons for a long, long time, but she did find her path and got herself clean. Heather has been clean for 7 years now, building herself back up and creating a stable life. She recently reconnected with her Daughter and though they remained largely estranged, things seemed to be going well for Heather, but her health started to fail. Heather received 3 heart surgeries, but still went into multiple organ failure and lost her life on June 6th 2021.
We do not have much more information at this time, but we were informed by the hospital in New York (where Heather lived) that the family only has 7 days to have her body moved to a funeral home.
Her Daughter, who only recently graduated High School, is desperately trying to get her mother's body moved and have her cremated, but the cost is $2000. As young adult who is just starting out, she can not make this happen on her own.
We are asking for $300 more than what it costs because gofundme takes a percentage of each donation, so we want to make sure there is enough money after all the fees.
If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated, but if you can not, please share this fundraiser! Every share helps get our story out there!
Thank you all so, so much for your time!
