HELP GET GRACE BACK ON TRACK.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to look at our campaign. We are trying to raise money for urgent medical treatment for an aspiring GB athlete Grace Bower. Grace is a multi eventer, she competes in the Heptathlon and the Pentathlon. She has been very successful. She has won English and Scottish titles and has represented GB, she is 19 years old. In May 2018, Grace was competing in a two day event, on the second day she found that her back had seized up and she was in severe pain . After several visits to her doctor and her physiotherapist, it was decided that Grace needed a MRI scan. Waiting for the NHS to get this sorted was not an option, her doctor kept telling her that she had a weak back and needed to rest. We therefore decided to pay for this ourselves. We visited the Manchester Institute of Health and Performance. The scan showed two fractures in her spine at L5 and a bone edema at L2, potentially career ending injury's. Grace also had blood tests and a consultation with their consultant. Grace has had spinal injections and months of physiotherapy with many trips back to MIHP. We have spent thousands of pounds on her treatment and so far, she is still in pain with her back and is unable to train at the level needed to get her back into full time training and competition. Grace is a fighter and tried to train at a lower intensity level but this ended up with her fracturing her foot and then had to wear a boot for five weeks.This morning, Grace was back at MIHP for another MRI scan, she paid for this herself. The consultant and the physiotherapist do not know exactly what is wrong with Graces back but are now talking about Platelet Rich Plasma injections which are very expensive.  We need to raise this money as soon as we can to help fund Graces ongoing treatment. This will allow Grace to continue to get the best treatment she can and give her the best fighting chance to make a full recovery and get her back where she belongs, on the track and winning. Grace is coached by Mr Mike Holme`s, Mike was Katrina Johnson Thompson`s coach for many years. Mike thinks Grace has the potential to go all the way but we just need to get her fit and healthy.  Thank you for taking the time to read this and any help will be greatly appreciated.
