Help get Evey safe!

Evelyn is currently in protective custody. She came home to her mother with a bloody discharge in her underwear. Christie took her to Children's Mercy and they ran a rape kit. Evelyn tested positive for Chlamydia. Due to the seriousness of this, she was taken into protective custody on Saturday pending an investigation. Christie's test results for Chlamydia were negative.
Evelyn won't be home for Christmas, but Christie is thankful that she is in a safe place and that people are finally listening and investigating. Christie has spent at least $10,000 on medical and legal fees this year already trying to protect her daughter. Every donation helps. Thank you.

This campaign is for my friend Christie and her daughter Evelyn. Christie has asked me to run this so that she can focus on her daughter, work and all the other parts of life. There are more graphic images of some of the injuries that Evey has suffered lower down in this post, including of this head wound and previous injuries to her leg. This week Evey suffered a head injury requiring surgery during the visitation with her other parent. At this time, there is not an explanation for how the injury happened. This is not the first time that Evey has had to be taken in for medical care due to injuries during visitations with her other parent, but it is the most serious and frightening one. Christie was not notified about the injury until nearly 12 hours after it happened. Help us get Evey safe. Lack of evidence about the origin of these injuries and limitations of the system have so far kept the current visitation agreement in place. I'm asking for your help both to cover extra expenses from this injury and surgery and to pursue legal aid to protect Evey in the future. She deserves to be safe, and your help can make that happen.
