Help get Dan a Chair for Powerchair Football

Dan's hands were huge when he was born, of course, we started dreaming of how he'd be a goalkeeper for Leeds someday, maybe even play for England!!

By his first Christmas, that dream was shattered, we knew it could never come true and our life changed forever. Dan sustained a brain injury and from that day forward life led us down a new path.

He spent most of his early years watching his brother do all the things he was desperate to try, always trying, in vain, to compete with him where he could. We tried many many different groups, both mainstream and disability groups trying to find his "thing"

In the summer of 2014 we took him along to Leeds PFC to try Powerchair football, and at last, he finally found his home!

He discovered a sport that he can compete in on equal terms and one he absolutely loves. He lives and breathes powerchair football now, so maybe that initial dream can come true, but in a different version of the sport. All that hard work, effort and determination has started to pay off as he has graduated from the FA Regional Emerging Talent Pathway to the National Pathway increasing his chances to move, one day, into the England Squad and represent his country.

He has the loan of a chair from the club, but now that is getting old and to enable him to progress he needs to acquire his own.

We are trying to raise £7536.50 to get him the best chair we can, to give him the best chance we can. We already have a pledge of £2500 from a charity, so our target is £5036.50.
